Since 1892 Queens Gardens have been a pillar in the Nelson community and today are a flourishing and relaxing grounds for which to explore. With Victorian inspirations, the gardens were created to celebrate the Jubilee of Queen Victoria on the banks of the Maitai River.
The gardens are filled with a range of beautiful sights to explore including the Cupid Fountain, Water Wheel and the Boer War Memorial. You can easily spend a few hours following the paths through the gardens or by just relaxing with a picnic.
